Daredevil Just Brought Back the Defenders. Quietly.
Episode 6 of Daredevil: Born Again Season 2 dropped last week. Krysten Ritter is back as Jessica Jones. She's got a daughter named Danielle. And anyone who read the comics or watched the Netflix shows knows exactly what that means.
What Happened in "Requiem"
Jessica shows up after AVTF agents barge into her house. She destroys them solo, in the kind of fight scene she has not gotten in nine years. She and Daredevil team up to clean out a warehouse afterward. Jessica burst through a wall. Matt politely used the door. The whole episode was building something.

Then they get into it. Jessica mentions her powers have been weaker since Danielle was born. Says they "drop out sometimes, then come back." That's the show telling you straight up: the kid is absorbing her powers. Same setup as the comics.
She also makes a knowing comment about "not everyone" turning down a particular offer. Matt's reaction is the same "oh" you make when you know exactly who someone is talking about and you don't want to say it out loud. That's the Luke Cage tease.
Why This Is Bigger Than Just an Episode
If Danielle is Danielle Cage, that means Luke Cage exists in this version of the MCU. If Luke exists and Jessica is back, the Defenders are back on the table. Matt also spent the episode trying to make peace with Kingpin instead of fighting him, which is a moral pivot for Matt I did not see coming and now cannot stop thinking about.

Karen Page got captured at the end. Two episodes left before the finale on May 12. Jessica is in the credits going forward. The show is positioning itself for a Defenders reunion in Season 3 and not even hiding it.
My Take
Marvel TV has been quietly doing the work this season. Born Again Season 1 was rocky. Season 2 figured out the assignment, and the way they handled Jessica's reintroduction (full character continuity, no recast, real consequences from Danielle's birth) tells me they are taking these characters seriously this time.
If you bailed on Born Again after the slow start, this is the week to come back.
