Welcome to Erinor! A New D&D Weekly Blog

The Erinor Saga: Students of Adventure

We're starting something new on the blog. Every week, we'll be posting a chapter from a D&D campaign set in an original world called Erinor. Real sessions, real players, real choices shaping the story as it unfolds. Think of this as your orientation before the first day of school.

The World

Erinor is a homebrew world I've been building for a while now. It's a place where gods walk freely but stand united against horrors lurking at the edges of reality, where an emperor from overseas conquered the Carven Desert with an army of men and warforged, and where the scars of the War of the Elven Kind are still fresh across the continent. The elves are holding together a fragile peace after the Burning of the Southern Oakwood tore their world apart. And behind all of it, there's the memory of the Hathys Rebellion, when a rogue god nearly brought the entire universe down with him.

The world runs on a concept called the Tapestry. Think of it as the fabric of reality itself, woven by the creator god Zeodra. Magic, fate, history. It's all threaded together. When someone pulls at a thread, the whole weave feels it.

If you want to explore the full lore, the world is documented on World Anvil. Maps, factions, history, all of it. But you don't need any of that to follow the story. Everything you need will come through the chapters themselves.

The Campaign: Students of Adventure

The story follows a group of students at the Pinewood Institute of Magical Persons. A magical academy with its own houses, competitions between them, professors with secrets, and more hidden doors than anyone has bothered to count. Our characters are young. They're finding their footing as students first, and slowly setting out on their first real adventures into the wider world of Erinor.

The tone starts lighter than your typical dark fantasy campaign. These are characters figuring things out. Making friends. Getting into trouble. Discovering what kind of people they want to be. The stakes grow as the story goes on, but it begins with the energy of a group of students who just found a hidden room they definitely should not have opened.

The Party

Arden Hemlock — Human Wild Magic Sorcerer. The steady but sometimes aloof presence in the group, which is ironic given that his magic has a mind of its own. Wild Magic surges don't care about your plans. Arden keeps everyone grounded when things go sideways, even when his own spells are part of the problem.

Sandre Lehartel — Half-Elf Wizard/Rogue. A little magic, a little mischief, and the kind of person who always has a plan. Whether it's a good plan is a different conversation. Sandre operates in the space between cleverness and chaos, and seems comfortable there.

Hibby — Fairy Wizard. Small in size, massive in personality. Hibby brings energy to every room and isn't afraid to speak up, even when speaking up might not be the wisest call. Don't underestimate the fairy.

Spruce Burrows — Human Wizard. The one who started all of this. Spruce has been hunting for hidden rooms belonging to Elinor Foxtail, the founder of their house, and she's the reason the group ended up in that secret chamber in the first place. Curiosity is a powerful thing.

Hazel Felide — Aasimar Wizard/Paladin. A recent graduate of Pinewood who stayed on as an advisor for House Foxtail. Hazel spotted the group sneaking around after hours and decided to follow them instead of stopping them. Turns out that was the right call.

Vin Roseknight — Tiefling Druid. The mysterious newest member of the group. Vin carries a past she doesn't talk about much and a connection to nature that runs deeper than most druids her age. How she ended up with the Students is a story best told in the chapters themselves.

Why We're Sharing This

I built Erinor because I love worldbuilding and storytelling. What started as a campaign setting turned into something much bigger, and the sessions have produced moments that genuinely surprised even me as the DM. These characters have taken on a life of their own thanks to the players behind them, and the story they're telling deserves a wider audience than just the people at the table.

This is the beginning. If the world clicks with you, follow along. If one of these characters catches your attention, stick around. New chapters go up every Friday, and the story is just getting started.

Chapter 1 drops next Friday. See you then.
